About this program
Women do roughly half the field labour during transplanting and harvest in our partner villages, and are usually paid less than half the men's wage for the same day's work. We work with women's groups on wage transparency, group savings, and homestead plots they own outright.
The program is run by a woman from each village, paid a small monthly honorarium, who keeps the savings book and convenes the monthly meeting.
