How one of our first scholarship recipients now leads a learning center in her village.
Shilpi was 12 years old when she received her first Alor Pothe scholarship. Today, at 23, she runs the after-school learning center in the same village she grew up in — and 38 girls show up every afternoon to study with her.
We sat down with Shilpi at the end of a school day to talk about what changed, what didn't, and what she'd tell her 12-year-old self.
Her short answer: "Stay. Even when it's boring. Even when it's hard. Just stay."
